Paul has been practising law since 1987 and has been a partner in different law firms around New Plymouth since 1991. In 2000, he joined with Peter Young to form Young + Carrington, which later became Young Carrington + Ussher. Paul has extensive experience in property and commercial law, particularly in land development, rural law, commercial transactions and employment.
Before practising law, he worked in industrial relations at the Patea Freezing Works, as a driller at the Patea Dam, before milking 300 cows at Ohangai.
Paul lives in New Plymouth with his wife, Shelley, and is an avid collector of art.
